DEMES Statement on Hand Sanitizer
In Canada, as of August 6th, CBC has reported that more than 50 different types of hand sanitizers have been recalled by Health Canada.
In the United States, Ars Technica has reported Mounting poisonings, blindness, deaths as toxic hand sanitizers flood market. The FDA is “extremely concerned” by the growing risks of toxic sanitizers.
We at DEMES want to assure you that our hand sanitizers, along with all of our products, remain 100% natural.
For over nine years, we have made natural products using only pure ingredients. We are members of the Safe Cosmetic Business Network. We know the effects that toxic ingredients can have--- and especially what toxic ingredients can do when a product such as hand sanitizer, is used regularly,
In March of 2020, we received our Health Canada Natural Health Product licence for hand sanitizer. Our hand sanitizer formula is a modification of a product we have been selling since 2011, GET THE FUNK OUT deodorizer/deodorant spray. We haven't needed to substitute any ingredients, we merely modified the product- mainly increasing the percentage of alcohol.
We make no compromises in the quality of our ingredients used in our products.
Even during this pandemic, with a shortage of quality alcohol, we did not compromise. The alcohol we use is pure, natural 95% ethanol (grain derived) - sourced from Ontario, Canada. As always, we make this 'un-consumable' with only quality, natural ingredients such as organic vegetable glycerin and essential oils.
Our belief has always been "what goes on, goes in". Our products, and the ingredients within, will always remain natural, plant-based, and safe.
